2021 Summer Solstice Gathering
July 1st - 4th, 2021
#17 Kachinas
Please Join Us…for the 20th annual ceremonial gathering to come into our knowing of what we choose to give back to life.
Once again, we will gather in a sacred way on land that has been held in deep respect by the people for many, many generations.
We come this year not only as seekers for our own giving-back, but also as healers for the land herself, after the devastating fires of 2020.
The buildings at Sequoia Retreat Center were spared from destruction by the fires. Now there is a need for our singing, dancing, deep sharing and collective wisdom to humbly come and bless this land once again.
We come, as always, seeking our unique and collective expression of our gratitude for the Gift of Life.
Each year we seek words that send out the call for us to gather…
“Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.
One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul.
Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires.”
— Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Where Have We Come From?
From the roots of Bill & Marilyn's Pathfinder Circles, beginning at the 2002 Summer Solstice, we have gathered in the magnificent redwoods of the Santa Cruz Mountains in Northern California to discover, understand and amplify our deepest commitments for the next cycle of the sun.
We seek to align ourselves with the forces of creation that have guided us since the beginning. We believe that none of us is meant to do our work alone. By sharing our deepest commitments with one other and with Mother Earth, we take a stand for our evolutionary role in the world.
We gladly accept our role of player in an infinite game. We do this by consciously choosing to evolve ourselves and our social forms in ways that will best serve the well-being of all of life. Questions provide a light scaffolding to hold us as we evolve.
- What do we choose to give back to Life in gratitude for all we have received?
- What do we choose to learn at this Solstice Gathering?
- What doorway is ours to step through with renewed awareness and vitality?
May these three questions inform our journey from now until our Summer Solstice Gathering.
Once again, we send this call from our hearts to yours to consider gathering July 1-4 with your community to pledge what is yours to give back to Life.
“Listening creates a holy silence. When you listen generously to people, they can hear truth in themselves, often for the first time. And in the silence of listening, you can know yourself in everyone. Eventually, you may be able to hear, in everyone and beyond everyone, the unseen singing softly to itself and to you.”
Rachel Naomi Remen
What is the Context for the Gathering?
The Mayan Sacred 20 Count is a sequence of 20 numbers in an ancient design of wholeness that encompasses all of the energies of the universe. It forms the foundation of the Medicine Wheel Teachings carried by Pele Rouge and FireHawk. Each number, beginning with One, carries a unique energy, a unique aspect of life unfolding.
Seventeen years ago, we chose to align each of our Summer Solstice Gatherings with one number – one energy of the Sacred 20 Count for each Gathering. This year, our focus is on the #17 – Kachinas
Seventeen holds the collective consciousness of Kachinas – a vast energy of life expressing herself.
The Seventeen reminds us of our interwoven relationship with all of the Energies of Life that come to teach us, and remind us of our purpose, a purpose in alignment with the larger Laws of Life.

All Inclusive Details:
Early Registration by June 1st:
Unlike other years, due to the fires last summer, there are many more cabins with single king or queen beds in them. This makes for far fewer double and triples than in the past. Our pricing is the same as last year, and one of our principles is to work out finances in a way that works for all. Please reach out to us if you need some help this year.
Please register early if you wish to room in separate beds with someone, plus consider sharing a king sized bed, if that works for you.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
If written notification of cancellation is received by June 1, 2021 and the space is filled by another, 100% of the program fees paid (minus $250 fee) will be refunded. After June 1st, 50% of program fees paid (minus the same fee) will be refunded if the space is filled. No refunds after June 15th.
